Breast augmentation

Capsulectomy

This procedure is used to remove the capsule, that is, the hardened sheath around the implant that is formed as a result of the body's reaction to a foreign body. A capsule caused by implants is not dangerous, but sometimes it can deform the shape of the breast and cause the surface layer of the implant to weaken and can cause the implant itself to rupture. For this reason, it is necessary to remove as much of the capsule as possible, change the placement of the implants and, most often, place new implants. In some cases, it is necessary to perform additional procedures on the remaining breast tissue in order to reduce the asymmetry. The procedure lasts from 1 to 4 hours, and full recovery usually occurs after 4 weeks.
